Sister Ships

1960, fine art print on canvas. One of many “Sister Ships” Joe Richards painted in his lifetime, this depiction of Princess sailing at night with another Friendship sloop was possibly his favorite theme. When asked why an artist would paint the same painting more than once he would reply, “How many sunflowers did Van Gogh paint?”

1975, fine art print on canvas. This is a depiction of Princess sailing into the entrance of Dinner Key, the harbor of Coconut Grove, on a windless night. It is one of a very few paintings of Princess after her sail plan was changed to a modern rig.
